Welcome to Paradigm Housing

Board Member Recruitment

Thank you for your interest in joining Paradigm Housing

Thank you for your interest in these roles at Paradigm. This is a great time to join our Board to help us shape an exciting future for our organisation. Building on our strong foundations, we are looking for Board Members that share our ambition to deliver excellent services for our customers and to help us make a difference to the communities we serve by building high quality affordable homes.

Paradigm is one of the Southeast’s leading housing providers, managing over 16,000 homes with an annual turnover of c£122m (April 2022 – March 2023). Headquartered near High Wycombe and Beaconsfield, we are a charity and a registered provider of social housing, employing over 600 people.

We are a growing organisation. We delivered 522 new homes in 2023-24  and we aim to develop over 2,000 homes over the next 5 years.

Retaining the trust and confidence of our key stakeholders is important to us. Foremost in our mind is the interests of our customers. Despite all social housing providers experiencing a very challenging operating environment in 2023/23, Paradigm achieved a customer satisfaction of 80% for general needs customers. We are committed to being well run and financially sound. We have retained the highest rating for Governance and Financial Viability (G1/V1) by the Regulator of Social Housing, and Standard & Poor’s has confirmed our long-term credit issuer rating as A+ with a stable outlook. The development of our Sustainability Financing Framework enabled us to issue a second £250m sustainability bond.

Our objective is that Paradigm should be an exemplar organisation in our sector, and we have ambitious plans for growth. Our 5-year Corporate Plan 2021-26 sets out a clear vision for the organisation, including commitments to provide excellent services and support for our most vulnerable customers, as well as investment to reduce the carbon emissions of our homes to net zero by 2050 and address fuel poverty. To help us achieve these objectives, we are also embarking on a significant transformation programme and investing in new core IT and digital solutions. In joining our Board you will oversee the successful delivery of this plan, but also help us shape what comes next for our strategic development as an organisation.

In our new Board Members we are looking for individuals who bring senior experience from the Housing sector as well as skills in Commercial Development, Investment and Strategic Asset Management. Our organisation, and the sector as a whole, is facing challenges such as increased costs as well as commitments to the environment. The expectations of housing associations, as expressed by new consumer regulation, have considerably increased. Whilst we are well placed to meet these challenges with a strong business and grip on efficiency, risk, development and operational delivery, it is vital that we have a strong board to lead us through these periods of change.

Paradigm is an ambitious organisation, with highly engaged colleagues and established set of core values. We have already achieved our Corporate Plan objective to achieve a 2* accreditation with Best Companies, reflecting ‘outstanding’ levels of workplace engagement. We combine this with an expectation of professionalism, a commitment to excellence, and an open culture in which we debate future challenges and opportunities, and we are constantly looking for better ways to achieve our objectives.

We will shortly start work on our next Corporate for the period from April 2026. Many of our objectives will be the same – continuing to provide excellent services to customers, delivering on our environmental commitments and building high quality, affordable new homes for those in housing need. The process will also give us the chance to adapt to whatever opportunities and challenges emerge after the General Election.

If you would like to be part of our ambitious journey, we would welcome an application from you.
